Rent Distress

When your tenants are unable to meet their rent commitments as per the terms stipulated in the lease agreement, the law allows you – the Landlord to mitigate your loss through distress for rent.

Distress for rent allows a landlord to enter a tenanted property and to seize and hold goods found at the property until rent is paid. If the rent is not paid, the landlord is entitled to sell the goods and use the sale proceeds to pay off the unpaid rent.

You do not have to do this on your own. At Westminster, we offer our services to Landlords on whom we act on behalf of, guided by The Distress for Rent Act in the Laws of Kenya.

Our recovery success rate is beyond reproach, so is our professionalism in terms of dealing with the affected parties. We have assisted our clients to recover income that they would have otherwise lost through unpaid rent.

We not only save our clients’ money but also time. We have the necessary resources to deliver on our promises.
